What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Lighting Technician position at Superior Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing, Inc.?
The Lighting Technician will complete service routes ensuring timely completion of service and repair within retail environments. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of recent experience as a lighting technician or commercial electrical experience and be able to work independently or as part of a team. Schedules are Monday to Friday with occasional overnight shifts, a two-week training schedule and a three-month probation period. Technicians are issued company vehicles and allowed to start their routes from their home address or location.
Responsibilities
- Perform repair, maintenance and/or diagnostics on commercial electrical components
- Troubleshoot, upgrade or repair egress lighting
- Remove and replace lighting tubes, bulbs and LED'S within a variety of interior and exterior electrical fixtures
- Experience with Title 24, refrigeration controls or Ansul systems are desired but not required
- Provide informative customer service regarding the nature of the lighting repair
- Drive company vehicles with department guidelines
- Independently work-off blueprints, sketches, or schematic drawings
- Submit service paperwork and reports within department standards
- Additional duties assigned as needed to support the operations of the department
- Three or more years of commercial experience within the scope of an electrician, lighting technician or maintenance
- A valid driver license with an insurable driving record defined as no more than two points on a driving record
- Pass a pre-employment drug test and a motor vehicle background check
- Available to work over nights or third shift on occasions
- Proficient English communication skills to write reports and emails
- Cell phone literacy for the use of written and verbal communication
- Must be able to work according to safety guidelines, CALOSHA, and workplace policies
