Description
We are seeking Generator Mechanics to join our Southern California division. As a Generator Mechanic you will perform preventive maintenance on commercial stationary backup generators. Company vehicles are issued upon completion of a short-term training module, and you are allowed to take the company vehicle home. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience completing onsite mechanical preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure standby generators perform optimally.
Responsibilities
- Visually inspect and diagnose natural gas and / or gasoline standby commercial generators
- Conduct routine maintenance on standby generators which may include changing filters, oil changes, replace batteries, belts, spark plugs and other mechanical components
- Knowledge and experience about DC and AC voltage equipment is desired
- Proficient troubleshooting Automatic Transfer Switches is desired
- Provide generator user education as needed
- Submit repair or service recommendations as needed to keep equipment operational in optimal condition
- Read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Drive a company vehicle and complete fleet reports as required by the department
- Complete accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed
- Communicate effectively with management, peers and clients
