Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Produce, the Floral Specialist is responsible for achieving company objectives for the Floral division by efficiently and profitably managing, coaching and training department associates, utilizing departmental resources effectively and by fulfilling customers’ expectations.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that all necessary tasks in the floral division are done knowledgeably and efficiently in accordance with company policies. Elevating all existing produce managers and associates to a higher level of expectations. Assist in the training of all new hired associates or transferred associates from other departments. Ensure that all are trained in all aspects of properly maintaining a profitable floral department.
- Determining ways to meet customer’s demands by observing daily department operations as well as competitor visits weekly and communicating your ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement.
- Fulfilling customer’s expectations by providing leadership and training to the Produce Manager and Team Members to present to our customers a full, fresh, and clean floral department.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of all merchandise within the floral department and all back stage storage areas.
- Maintain full, fresh, and appealing floral displays that are properly rotated, free of decay, within code and cleaned regularly. Partner with the floral company to train our floral clerks so we can maintain a fresh looking department at all the time.
- Keeping all equipment clean and in good working order, reporting any unsafe or broken equipment that could cause a work place accident or damage to other company property.
- Planning and administering product promotions and displays through guidance and best practices ensuring that schematics and plan ‘O’ grams are being adhered to.
- Enforcing all safety rules and developing safety programs that create a safe work place environment for associates and a clean safe shopping experience for our customers.
- Striving to always raise the bar in expectations when working with and training associates understanding their strengths and opportunities for improvement. Monitor the shrinkage and we can improve and minimize the shrinkage and increasing the sales.
- Performing additional jobs that the VP of the Produce or the Director of Produce may assign.
- Work closely with vendor partners to develop Plant and Orchid programs with quality product that will build consumer trust and improve sales.
Job Requirements:
Education:
- HS degree or equivalent required, AA preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of Floral Department management.
Knowledge:
- Excel and Word
Skills and Ability:
- Good Communication skills both written and verbal
Range: $69K to $71K
