Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires proficiency in payroll software and a solid understanding of payroll principles.
Duties
- Process payrolls for all employees, ensuring accuracy in hours worked and deductions.
- Maintain employee records related to payroll, benefits, and tax information.
- Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure all payroll entries are accurate.
- Utilize accounting software, including Paycor and JobBoss, for payroll processing.
- Assist with benefits administration and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.
- Pre-audits input data and verifies authenticity of output in daily payroll and file maintenance.
- Ensures accurate preparation and balancing of weekly and special payroll, payroll balance sheets and summaries.
- Assists in the responsibility along with Paycor payroll system for timely and accurate distribution of all factory payroll checks and accountable for unclaimed checks.
- Handles various payroll adjustments, shortages, garnishments (ex. childcare, bankruptcy, IRA payments), manual computation of gross and net pay, vacation pay, bonuses, etc., after verification.
- Prepares periodical payroll-related analysis, statements and projections.
- Updates month-end, quarter-end and year-end data and reports.
- Handles processing and upkeep of all functions of 401k retirement fund loans. Assists with maintenance of 401k retirement fund.
- Maintains records of any transactions that are payroll or personnel related.
- Maintain collection records of insurance and/or loan payments when employee is absent from work.
- Maintains employee records: such as personnel changes, attendance, over-time and vacation requests.
- Ensures accurate completion of W-2’s at year-end through Paycor payroll system.
- Maintains and updates files for personnel job descriptions.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Assists HR Manager with any of his/her functions.
- Answers switchboard and takes messages as needed.
- Prepares new hire packets and processes new employees; includes enrolling new hires in any benefits selected. Updates the computer systems with these new hires.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in payroll processing or related field.
- Work effectively with employees, supervisors, and managers
- Proficiency in Microsoft office software; experience with Paycor and JobBoss preferred.
- Ability to convey a positive and professional image to applicants and employees.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A commitment to maintaining accuracy in all aspects of payroll processing.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.57 - $17.34 per hour
