What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler/Saw Operator position at Superior Metal Products, Inc?
Position Overview:
The primary focus of a Material Handler / Saw Operator is to keep jobs running through the saws, raw material inventory control, assist with material handling and related functions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Demonstrate ability to follow Safety rules.
· Able to perform saw set-up & production functions to achieve & maintain part quality.
· Suggest and assist in the implementation of process improvement ideas.
· Monitor fluid levels of machine, and report any maintenance needed to Department Lead.
· Demonstrate ability to read blue prints and inspect parts with specified measuring devices.
· Complete job order documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 quality standards.
· Safely move bar stock material to material racks and to saws.
· Assist with space optimization and organization (FIFO) in the Warehouse.
· Provide material handling services to support manufacturing activities.
· Transports freight, stock, and other materials by use of hand trucks, fork trucks and company vehicles.
· Load and unload freight into/from company vehicles or transportation service provider transporters.
· Conduct self in professional manner.
· Deburr parts as required.
· Maintain clean work area.
Skills:
· Safety first mindset.
· Previous Forklift experience preferred but not required. Must be able to obtain operators license within first 90 days.
· Ability to handle materials and equipment in a responsible manner
· Must show high levels of professionalism, honesty and integrity at all times.
· Attention to detail.
· Proficient with basic Arithmetic functions.
· Must be able to traverse and access all areas of the property.
· Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.
· The ability to read and write English.
· Ability to follow directions.
