POSITION SUMMARY
Superior Optical is looking for Surfacing Department Technicians who are responsible for monitoring state of the art automated equipment on the surfacing ring. The surfacing of the eye glass lenses consists of several processes including back side coating, blocking, deblocking, engraving, polishing and inspections. We maintain excellent service by following Superior standards of production and quality.
Shift information:
Monday through Friday 7:00a - 3:30p
(some Saturday shifts are required)
Requirements
We are looking for lab technicians for the manufacturing production of eye glasses and sun glasses. On the job training provided. The following are primary tasks:
- Monitoring and shepherding the automated equipment to ensure operating correctly
- Catch any errors on surfacing equipment
- Letting supervisor or leads know of any machine issues
- Monitor tool changes and pad changes when required
- Perform calibrations when needed
- Cleaning equipment at the end of every shift
- Use of the auto-mapper
- Full lens inspection
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ABO certified preferred but not required
- Experienced in DVI software systems preferred but not required
- Optical experience preferred but not required
Physical Requirements
- Good eye for details
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Bending, stooping, and twisting
- Sitting and/or standing for short or extended periods of time
- Reaching above/or below shoulder
