Job Description – Service Technician
Superior Pest Control is hiring a full-time service technician to provide excellent service and solutions for our customers in a professional, safe, and clean work environment. No experience is necessary and paid training is provided. Our service technicians need to be customer-focused with an attention to detail and take pride in their work. Skills, tools, and resources will be provided to ensure the success of each of our employees so they can provide the highest level of service to our customers and maximize their earning potential.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Must have a current Michigan Department of Agriculture Certification or pass the Michigan Department of Agriculture Certification Exams. Study materials and exam fees are paid for by Superior Pest Control.
- Inspect, treat, and solve pest concerns utilizing a pest management program that may include the application of insecticides, rodenticides, baits, and/or traps.
- Technician must arrive at each job on time with all required materials during the normal working hours of 5:00am – 1:00pm. Note: these hours may fluctuate based on seasonality or scheduling requirements and will be communicated in advance.
- The success of our company is dependent on the quality and execution of our services to our customers. Service technicians must be able to work independently, while maintaining a vision for their contribution to the success of the entire company.
- All employees mush show respect for all customers, co-workers, vendors, and represent themselves in a professional manner.
- All employees are expected to be well-groomed and maintain a professional appearance.
- Technicians must have a safe driving record and valid driver’s license.
- Job duties routinely include lifting, pushing and pulling equipment, bending, squatting, reaching, ascending and descending stairs and ladders, and occasionally working in crawl spaces and/or elevated (e.g. roof).
- Technician will be trained on and expected to properly use all application and inspection equipment, small hand and power tools, digital devices (tablet and phone), and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Employees must be able to effectively communicate in English (speech and written).
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive pay. Starting pay is $18.75/Hr. Pay increases to $19.50/Hr. after completing MDARD Certification (or if already earned).
- Regularly paid bonuses after three (3) months of employment.
- Five (5) days paid vacation and two (2) personal days paid after 90 days of employment. After one year of employment, 10 days paid vacation and three (3) personal days paid.
- Health insurance available after 90 days of employment. A portion of the premiums are subsidized by Superior Pest Control.
- Dental insurance available after 90 days of employment. Premiums are 100% paid by Superior Pest Control.
- IRA retirement eligible on the first enrollment date after six (6) months of employment. Superior Pest control matches dollar-for-dollar up to 3%.
- Short Term disability eligible on first enrollment date after six (6) months of employment, premiums are 100% paid by Superior Pest Control.
- Uniforms and a $85 annual boot allowance.
- Company issued cell phone and vehicle.
