In this role, you will ensure the safety and well-being of team members and subcontractors on roofing projects. You will play a critical role in maintaining compliance with safety regulations and implementing best practices to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs to promote a culture of safety across all projects.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards.
- Provide safety training and orientation for all new hires and subcontractors, emphasizing the importance of safety protocols and procedures.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to address safety concerns and develop effective safety plans for each project.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training activities, and safety equipment inventory.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in safety management.
- Act as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns from team members, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management for commercial roofing or a comparable environment.
- OSHA 500 certification required; additional certifications such as CPR, CHST, First Aid, and CSP are also required.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and best practices in the construction industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate team members on safety protocols.
- Proven ability to conduct thorough safety inspections, hazard assessments, and accident investigations.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing safety as a top priority.
