We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer with experience in designing Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and fire alarm systems for the commercial sector. This is a direct hire opportunity with our client based in Charlotte, NC!

Hybrid work schedule - Office day (Wednesdays) remote the rest of the week.
Salary$85,000 - $105,000/per year (based on experience)
Responsibilities:
- System Design: Design electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems based on project requirements, building codes, and client specifications.
- Calculations and Analysis: Perform calculations to determine electrical loads, voltage drop, short circuit analysis, and other technical aspects to ensure safe and efficient operation of electrical systems.
- Drafting and Documentation: Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using software like AutoCAD or Revit. These drawings are used by contractors for installation and by other design disciplines for coordination.
- Coordination: Collaborate with other disciplines (mechanical, structural, architectural) to ensure that electrical systems integrate seamlessly with overall building design.
- Compliance and Codes: Ensure that electrical designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations such as the National Electrical Code (NEC) in the United States or local codes in other regions.
- Construction Support: Provide support during construction, which may involve responding to contractor queries, reviewing submittals, and conducting site visits to ensure installations meet design intent.
- Value Engineering: Participate in value engineering exercises to optimize designs for cost-effectiveness while maintaining performance and compliance.
- Client Interaction: Interact directly with clients to understand project needs, present design solutions, and address concerns or changes.
- Electrical engineer or designer with 3-6 years’ experience in electrical, lighting, and fire alarm design of commercial buildings.
- 3-6 years’ experience in design of telecommunications and data communications technology a plus.
- Must have experience with using/applying AutoCAD and Revit.
