Requirements

  • Preparing materials :  Preparing stencils, mixing, and loading ink, and cleaning parts
  • Operating the machine :  Installing the silk screen, adjusting the holding fixture, and guiding the machine
  • Maintaining equipment :  Troubleshooting issues, repairing equipment, and cleaning the screens
  • Quality control :  Inspecting finished products to ensure they meet specifications
  • Record keeping :  Keeping records of work completed, job history, and quality standards
  • Working with a variety of materials, such as fabric and plastic

Some skills and qualifications that are useful for a silk screen printer include :

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

    • Ability to lift 25 lbs. or more
