POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for developing new customer leads and following up on and maintaining existing customer relationships at Superior Thread Rolling Co. LLC. Incumbent will create Sales Leads and nurture existing customers with the intent of increasing manufacturing revenues. This position will require knowledge of Aerospace Machined parts and related manufacturing and thread rolling processes. The position works to broad policies and objectives that require considerable independent judgment, confidence, and initiative.
In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of the up-front manufacturing sales process funnel from developing leads, obtaining RFQ’s from the customer, setting the cost/price of our quote, delivering that quote to the customer, following up with the customer, overcoming customer objections, and winning the order. In addition, this person will identify and act upon areas of needed improvement and be willing to support with all other sales, customer service and estimating activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Daily:
- Review and evaluate all quotes that the estimating and planning department completes
- Performs price/market evaluations for every quote
- Present completed quotes to customers
- Follows up on all quotes that were submitted to the customers using the Follow Up Module in ERP
- Make Top of Mind Follow Up Calls and documents each call.
- Facilitates customer visits and tours
- Maintains Customer Visits Spread Sheet.
- Send out Welcome Letters to new customers as needed.
- Understands Superior Thread Rolling core competencies, which includes all processes, techniques, and capabilities.
- Develop brand new potential leads and customers for the business
- Understands cellular manufacturing concepts, build rates, market trends for strong aerospace programs
- Understands Thread Rolling and Grinding Services, the advantages, and strategies for up-selling.
- Understands quality systems in accordance with AS9100 and NADCAP.
Weekly:
- Complete a min of 5 phone conversations with new or non-active (old) customers to generate new sales leads and create ERP follow ups
- Facilitate and hold Strategic and Tactical Sales meetings to update the Leadership team on customer needs, improve services, report quote resolutions, and identify areas of improvement.
- Manage Quote Win/Loss Co-Pilot Report in ERP and report quote resolutions at Sales Meeting
Monthly/Annually:
- Create and present an Annual Sales Plan & Budget to the Executive Team
- Review and track activity on all LTA contracts with team and communicate back to the customer, if necessary, on variances.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree is desired.
- Minimum of 5 years of aerospace sales or related industrial experience is required.
- Negotiation skills training is desired.
- Machine shop experience is desired.
- Some CRM and/or ERP software experience is required.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook is required.
- Strong attention to detail, good organization skills and good listening skills is required.
- Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills is required.
- Blueprint Reading competency is required.

This Position is a Full-Time position located in our Arleta, CA office.
