Dispatcher

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation logistics, ensuring timely completion of services, and maintaining efficient communication between drivers and management. This position requires the ability to be contactable by phone after hours in order to ensure timely support for customers and drivers of Superior Waste.

Duties

• Coordinate and schedule transportation routes for drivers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Monitor fleet operations using GPS and transportation management systems to track vehicle locations and status.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, providing them with necessary information regarding routes, schedules, and any changes.
• Be available nights/weekends for emergency calls
• Supervise and retain drivers
• Assist drivers with new applications and computer systems
• Manage daily logs and inspection reports
• Address any issues or delays that may arise during transportation, implementing solutions promptly.

Skills

• Proficiency in transportation planning and management techniques.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems (Trashflow) for efficient route optimization.
• Ability to analyze data effectively to make informed decisions regarding logistics operations.
• Excellent phone etiquette for effective communication with drivers and clients.
• Familiarity with fleet management practices to ensure vehicle maintenance and compliance.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, ensuring all dispatch activities are accurately recorded.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
