Super Micro Computer, Inc. is currently seeking a highly experience SW Engineer - Switch Design. The candidate will be responsible for promoting switch products, program manage and work with development and testing teams to features.
This position requires working knowledge on networking and switch products, analytical thinking, business acumen, leadership, program management teamwork, attention to details, and creativity
Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
- Developing and implementing low-level software that directly interacts with switch hardware platforms.
- Adopting existing firmware code and work on new or different switch hardware platforms.
- Debugging and optimizing ported F/W to ensure proper functionality/performance/stability on the platforms.
- Creating and maintaining documentation for ported F/W and related process.
- Collaborating with hardware engineers and other software teams to ensure seamless integration of ported F/W.
- Performing code reviews and adhering to F/W development best practices.
- Troubleshooting F/W issue cross different switch hardware configuration.
- Work across different HW, FW and SW departments/groups to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline is preferred; Master's degree in management is a plus
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in networking switch products development or management, or other similar technical position
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (L2 L3) and experience building networking switch technology
- Experience with C/C and Python programming.
- Experience with Linux programming.
- Fast and self-learner with outstanding technical skills.
- Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in SONiC/SAI or open source-based switch projects
$90,000 - $153,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
