Will be responsible for performing duties outlined in standard operating procedures related to thin film process equipment based physical vapor deposition (PVD), chemical vapor deposition (CVD), electropolishing/electroplating processes and related test/characterization tools. This will include use of cryogens such as liquid nitrogen, various chemicals, and high temperatures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide shift operations with HTS manufacturing process, electrical testing and thin film characterization with associated responsibilities for data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Maintenance and assembly of hardware components in PVD, CVD and electropolishing/electroplating equipment such as vacuum pumps, vacuum fittings, heaters, sputter sources, motorized drives, sensors and controls for temperature, flow etc.
- Accurately follow SOP and laboratory safety protocol for each process, test and characterization tool.
- Keep detailed notes during test measurements and foster best practices in terms of test procedures, data chain integrity, and Production Control Protocols
- Prepare accurate and detailed data summaries quickly and reliably. Requires user level competency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Able to multitask and learn how to use new process and test systems thoroughly and independently.
- Adhere to defined procedures for chemical handling and waste management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An AAS degree or technical certification in physics, chemistry, or other engineering fields or commensurate experience.
- Hands-on experience with thin film deposition equipment or wet chemical equipment is preferred;
- Machine shop experience to fabricate or modify minor hardware components is also preferred;
Minimum Qualifications:
- H.S. graduate or equivalent
- 2-5 years industrial experience in high tech manufacturing, such as the semi-conductor, electronics or fabrication industries
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Background in electrical and electronics manufacturing operations
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills; ability to work and flourish in a milestone-driven, fast-paced environment; ability to multi-task;
- Solid communication and organization skills.
- Competent in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
