We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who’s passionate about functional programming, type safety, and building scalable, robust backend systems. We are a typescript-centric development team.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend systems using TypeScript, NestJS, and GraphQL.
• Copilot/ChatGPT will be heavily used in development, you will be relying on LLMs to get your work done.
• Work closely with Frontend and Product teams to implement GraphQL, HTTP, and TRPC APIs with max type safety and efficiency.
• Write robust, type-safe database queries and integrations using Prisma and PostgreSQL.
• Apply functional programming principles to architect and refactor backend services, ensuring maintainability and reliability.
• Use Jira daily as the main communication path for project development
• Mentor junior developers, advocate for best practices, and lead by example in code quality, testing, and continuous delivery.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• 5 years of backend development experience, with a strong emphasis on TypeScript.
• Proficiency in GraphQL, including designing efficient queries, mutations, and subscriptions.
• In-depth experience with NestJS, using it to build large-scale, production-ready applications.
• Expertise with Prisma for database interactions, with a strong understanding of PostgreSQL.
• A deep love for functional programming principles and an ability to apply them in practice.
• Passion for max type safety, leveraging tools like TypeScript and GraphQL schemas to minimize runtime errors.
• Important: If you rely on type casting with as or , this is not the company for you. We believe in strict type safety and minimal casting.
• We religiously use Zod to create explicit parsers to go along with our types, ensuring data validation at runtime is as strict as our compile-time checks.
• Experience working with blockchain technologies, especially EVM based blockchains, NFTs, and smart contracts (or a willingness to learn).
• Strong knowledge of database design, optimization, and query performance tuning in PostgreSQL.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, and integration testing.
• A collaborative mindset with strong communication skills and a passion for teamwork.

• Experience with Google Cloud Run and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in general.
• Experience with Ethereum, smart contracts, and NFTs.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and microservices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Contributions to open-source projects or functional programming communities.
