Supertrace is deploying the world’s first AI network engineer that is built to self provision, build and heal networks at scale. We're building a suite of agents that will form the collective intelligence of the world's smartest network engineer.

🗺️ Role Overview

We are seeking a Founding Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our innovative and collaborative team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and scaling our platform, applications and agentic workflows.

The primary focus of this role will be developing and refining traditional ML / AI models for event correlation, anomaly detection, and alert flapping in complex network environments.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build robust, efficient, and reliable systems that power our AI-driven solutions for network automation and operations.

You will be joining a team of ~5 engineers and expected to own projects from end to end while driving the pace of product development on the team.

📍 Location

New York City, NY (Hybrid, office 4 days a week)

📔 Key Responsibilities

• Research, design, and implement machine learning models for event correlation and alert flapping in network operations.
• Develop and optimize time series forecasting models and anomaly detection techniques to identify and address network issues in real time.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate ML models into agentic LLM applications for scalable and production-ready systems.
• Analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data from networks to uncover insights and patterns.
• Design and build pipelines for data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
• Monitor the performance of deployed models and continuously improve them based on feedback and data shifts.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor junior team members, and uphold best practices for software development.
• Work with stakeholders to define technical requirements, estimate development timelines, and deliver high-quality features on schedule.

✅ Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience (5 years) in machine learning and data science, preferably in the networking or telecommunications domain.
• Strong proficiency in Python and ML libraries/frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, and Pandas.
• Expertise in working with time series data and developing models for anomaly detection and event correlation.
• Deep understanding of statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and deep learning techniques.
• Experience with big data tools such as Spark, Hadoop, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of data warehousing solutions.
• Proven track record of collaborating in small teams to deliver outsize software solutions.

😎 Nice to haves

• Familiarity with advanced concepts like reinforcement learning, graph neural networks, or transfer learning.
• Production grade LLM experience (at scale deployments, agentic workflows, etc.)
• Experience working on networking stack tools like LibreNMS, Netbox, Ansible, Network to Code, ThousandEyes or other known NMS platforms.
• Familiarity with Networking telemetry protocols (SNMP, gNMI, NETCONF, Syslog, etc.)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex network behavior.

💰 Competitive Salary range is $160k-200k base pending level of experience
