Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for performing clinical tasks, assisting with patient examinations, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures in various settings, including outpatient clinics and urgent care facilities.
- Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical histories and documenting relevant information.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians or nurse practitioners.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with medical-surgical procedures as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with patients and staff regarding treatment plans and procedures.
- Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and medication usage.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate with dermatology specialists when necessary to provide comprehensive care.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required.
- Experience in a clinical or urgent care setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of vital signs assessment and medical-surgical procedures.
- Familiarity with outpatient care processes and physiology knowledge is essential.
- Proficiency in medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Previous exposure to dermatology practices is a plus.
