What are the responsibilities and job description for the Primary Packaging Maintenance Technician position at Supply Chain?
Site Specific Detail / Requirements:
- Experience working on FF&S (Form Fill & Seal) equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair PLC (Programable Logic Control) equipment.
- I & E (Instrumentation and Electrical) experience with the ability and knowledge to read P&ID's.
- Equipment needs may require some shift work and/or weekend work.
- Ability to work independently, with other maintenance technicians, vendors, and operations.

Role Purpose:
The Primary Packaging Maintenance Technician is responsible for all major equipment repairs, upgrades, installations and changes related to the Primary Packaging operation. This role will perform the quarterly, bi-annual and annual PMs as per schedule. This role will have assigned machines to which they will require intimate knowledge of the mechanical and electrical aspects of the machine.
Key Accountabilities:
- Troubleshoot and maintain Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs along with associated Ladder Logic.
- Troubleshoot and maintain high speed Koch Thermoformers/In-Line Blister Sealers/High Speed Case Packers and Cartoners.
- Troubleshoot and maintain ABB and Fanuc Pick and Place robotics along with calibration and testing of arm and end of arm equipment.
- Identify issues with high speed equipment including technical specs, ladder diagrams, Allen Bradley PLC, wiring prints, pneumatic logic, hydraulic logic, as well as a variety of troubleshooting and measuring equipment.
- Have experience with, and understand the operation of, forming plastics and merging substrates with heat and pressure, and identify machine issues when operating outside of acceptable specs.
- Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment such as batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, and timers.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and/or replace pneumatic equipment such as diverters, air compressors, lubricators, hoses, and coils.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and/or replace hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.
- Use welding equipment, basic machine shop and fabrication.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment such as conveyors and power industrial equipment.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 years of experience in a production environment
- 1 years of experience as Industrial Mechanic or like role
- Experience in the operation of high speed packaging equipment, including the operation of human interface robots and recipe storage, preferred
