Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Clinical Pharmacy Educator who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
As a Clinical Pharmacy Educator, you will:
• Provides education and training to pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and students in the pharmacy training programs
• Develops and maintains formal training, orientation, and education to support the pharmacy experiential training programs
• Coordinates the Pharmacy Technician Training Program and evaluates its effectiveness, makes recommendations, and implements changes to improve the program in collaboration with entities pharmacy leadership
• Assists in implementing medication safety initiatives and strategies that improve Adventist HealthCare’s medication and patient safety practices
• Conducts process improvement activities based upon established metrics that improve the organization’s medication safety practices
• Participates in hospital-based and System Medication Safety Committees and presents medication safety reports or projects as needed
• Provides medication safety education to pharmacy team members and other healthcare professionals
• Maintains professional knowledge and skills by participating in continuing education activities
• Assists in medication error review and implementation of error prevention strategies
• Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications include:
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
• Good organization and negotiation skills
• Ability to build consensus among groups of diverse individuals with competing priorities
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite—Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of CPOE platforms (Cerner preferred) and pharmacy automation
• Graduation from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy school, with a PharmD degree; alternatively, Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with acute hospital/clinical experience
• Minimum three years of hospital pharmacy experience; practical experience in training and education and familiarity with ASHP and ACPE standards; working knowledge of USP 797, 800, and 795 is preferred
• Hospital pharmacy technician/intern experience is preferred
• Registered Pharmacist with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy in good standing ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Residency is required
• Member of the American Society of Health-system Pharmacists (ASHP), and/or Maryland Society of Health-system Pharmacists (MSHP) is preferred

$127,850.69 - $191,776.04If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
