What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional - Alternative Learning Program (SC) position at Support Center?
Applications are being accepted for a 6.5 hour per day Alternative Learning Paraprofessional position at the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) with Bellevue Public Schools, located at the Support Center. The ACE program meets the needs of BPS students (grades 9-12) who have been unsuccessful in the general education program at their designated high school and are willing to try a new alternative environment. The paraprofessional works under the direction and supervision of a teacher or other designated member of the program staff. The paraprofessional helps students acquire skills and competencies taught by the classroom teacher.
Duties include supervising and working with students both one on one and in small groups assisting the teacher(s) in the classroom. Duties also include making copies and other duties as assigned by the lead teacher. Required qualifications are that the applicant not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself or others with or without reasonable accommodations, and must be capable of regularly attending to the duties of the position assigned and for the duration of the assignment. This position is subject to a veterans preference. Duty hours are typically Monday through Friday, from 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
