Support for Early Learning & Families (SELF) seeks an experienced, engaging, and dedicated Home Based Bilingual Early Head Start Education and Family Support Specialist Float to join our educational community. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting directly to the Operations Center Director. This position is based in Vancouver, WA.

Support for Early Learning and Families (SELF) convenes and mobilizes partners and stakeholders throughout Southwest Washington to promote community awareness and advocacy for early learning, kindergarten readiness and school success for all children.
We work in partnership with the Educational Service District (ESD) 112 to staff and facilitate numerous childcare centers in the southwest Washington area. Our programs are designed to support children at ages ranging from birth, to preschool, to school age. We have program types to support children of all backgrounds and needs. About the Home Based Bilingual Early Head Start Education and Family Support Specialist Float Position:
The Home Based Bilingual Early Head Start Education and Family Support Specialists explore, provide, and coordinate services and resource access with enrolled families. They coordinate family and Center community activities that support the mission of familial strength, healthy living, and overall well-being. Family Support Specialists are to bring support in a case management style and act as a liaison between families, staff, the community, and other family-related services. Utilizing a strengths focused approach, Family Support Specialists work to encourage and support families to build self-efficacy strategies for their children and their family system.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Home-based Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential or equivalent coursework as part of an Associate’s and/or bachelor’s degree.
- Experience working with children and families from diverse cultures and lifestyles.
- Knowledge of child development and Developmentally Appropriate Practices
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to work outside traditional working hours to occasionally meet the needs of our families.
Bilingual in Spanish/English is required - Knowledge of community resources and services available to children and families.
- Experience working in an Early Head Start, Head Start and/or Early ECEAP and ECEAP.
- Recent successful experience working with children and families in Infant, Toddler or Preschool settings.
- Experience providing comprehensive services to children birth to five years in one or more of the following content areas: health, early childhood education, nutrition, mental health, and/or children with disabilities.
- Experience using computer software to manage data, maintain files, and submit reports.
- Home visiting experience
