The Staff Accountant handles various aspects of accounting including reconciling general ledger accounts, proposing journal entries and update supporting schedules related to the Balance Sheet and Income Statement Financial Reports. This position is also responsible for ensuring compliance with internal control policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible to maintain accounting ledgers by reconciling and recommending journal entries in a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis to ensure correct account balances in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles and company policies and procedures. Reconciliations includes and are not limited to : cash accounts, prepaid, accruals, notes receivables and payables, fixed assets, clearing accounts, income and expense accounts.
- Accountable for recording the cost of newly acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible), tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation and amortization, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets.
- Responsible to prepare prepaid and Real Estate Tax Accrual
- Responsible to record Notes payable Interest and principal payment
- Ensure reconciliations are completed based on the end of month calendar deadline.
- Responsible to maintain and update supporting roll forward schedules by the specified deadline.
- Participate in training to improve the knowledge on the accounting software or any industry / accounting specific topics.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Other duties as assigned.
