What are the responsibilities and job description for the Therapeutic Day Treatment Paraprofessional position at Support Incorporated?
Support Incorporated is hiring a paraprofessional for our day treatment program in Gastonia.
- Responsible for working in a classroom setting with other behavioral health professionals.
- Facilitate psycho-educational activities for clients and monitor the provision of services by paraprofessional and associate professional staff to ensure services are in compliance with treatment needs.
- Serve as member of the treatment team in the development and implementation of the client’s treatment plan.
- Implement evidence-based practices designed to reduce symptoms and improve functional skills to include functioning in a mainstream educational setting, maintaining residence with a family or community-based non-institutional setting (foster home, therapeutic home, etc.); and maintaining appropriate role functioning in community settings.
- Provide therapeutic interventions related to achieving service goals
- Responsible for developing and nurturing a supportive, therapeutic relationship between the providers, consumer, and family/caregiver.
- Teach skills to enhance communication and problem-solving skills.
- Monitor psychiatric symptoms and self-management of symptoms/behaviors related to positive behavior support activities and reinforcements.
- Ensure that service notes are accurate, completed within the agency timeframes, and in compliance with North Carolina Service Record Standards,
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Experience working with children in a classroom or childcare setting.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and classroom organization.
- Ability to assist in implementing educational plans and activities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
