Duties
As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with daily living activities such as cooking, grocery shopping, food preparations, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
-Assist in client financial budgeting and tracking financial transactions
-Schedule and attend medical appointments and complete proper documentation
- Supporting individuals in social activities and community engagement to enhance their quality of life.
-Transport clients into the community (approved drivers only)
-Model appropriate behavior
- Implementing individualized care plans tailored to each client's unique needs and preferences.
- Providing companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being.
- Ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality and privacy.
-Use Therap, email, and other communication tools appropriately
-Comply with all relevant Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs)
-Maintain all required certifications and licenses without lapses
-Attend all staff meetings as scheduled
- Assisting with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety and comfort of clients.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals, including those involved in home health, hospice care, and long-term care settings.
Experience
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in social work or direct care roles is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with first aid practices and emergency response protocols is advantageous.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued.
- A strong commitment to providing compassionate care and support to clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in various settings.
