What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Counselor position at Supportive Community Innovations-?
Supportive Community Innovations - Counseling is looking to hire a licensed mental health counselor (LMHCA, LMHC, LMFTA, LMFT, LCSW, LSW) for our Bloomington, Indiana office, no post-graduate experience necessary. Our director is an HSPP and does our weekly clinical supervision. While we prefer working in-person, you will have the option to adopt a hybrid schedule if you would like one. We also highly value work-life balance and provide a proactive self-care environment.
Employee Responsibilities include
- Building and providing therapy for a caseload of mostly individual clients
- Completing intake assessments as new clients are added to the caseload
- Completing progress notes, treatment plans, and intakes in a timely manner
- Offer consultation to other parties (e.g. family, healthcare provider, other SCI service lines)
- Following all HIPAA regulations and confidentiality practices (training available)

Requirements
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field
- Full or associate licensure (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LSW, LMHCA, LMFTA) in Indiana
- Computer proficiency in using electronic health records and email
- Willingness to work some evening hours for individuals who cannot meet during the day
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and valid car insurance
- Willingness to work with children
Preferred
- Experience with children, families, and adults
- Training in EMDR, DBT, play therapy or other specialty training
- Knowledge of developmental psychology
- Willingness to work with some mentally and/or physically disabled individuals
- Interest in working with a range of presenting concerns, including complicated cases and clients, such as comorbid disorders and personality disorders.
- Interest/willingness in leading or co-leading a therapy group 1 evening per week
