What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at Supportive Family Services?
Supportive Family Services seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work in a residential setting with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD).
Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun plus some holidays
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supporting personal care routines such as personal grooming, toileting, and dressing.
2. Supporting activities and assuring safety and healthcare practices are consistently observed.
3. Exercising good judgment in the application of established policies and procedures in order to ensure well-being and safety of all persons that we serve.
4. Interacting frequently and positively with persons served, external professionals, clinicians, family, etc.
5. Reporting all allegations or suspicions of abuse, neglect, or violations of "Individual's Rights".
6. Complete daily progress notes.
7. Accompanying persons served on community outings and engaging in leisure, educational, and recreational activities.
8. Transporting to and from appointments
9. Performing housekeeping/cleaning tasks as assigned on a daily basis.
10. Performing all duties as assigned within the shift.
11. Participating in on-going job-related training and staff meetings: demonstrating training competency.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Must be willing to work weekends and some holidays.
· Must be able to obtain a health certificate stating employee is free and clear of TB.
· Must possess a valid and current driver license.
· Must be Medication trained/certified
