Established in 1983, Supportive Living Services is an organization that provides support to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism whose Mission is “we believe every person should live the best life possible”.
Lifesharing
Lifesharing provides an opportunity for an individual diagnosed with an intellectual disability or autism spectrum disorder to live in the home of a family or adult in the community. The goal of the service is to provide the care and support the individual needs but also promote independence. Individuals receiving this service will work with their Lifesharing provider to build relationships, make everyday choices, identify and meet goals of independence, and live a lifestyle they are comfortable with. This service affords individuals the opportunity to become active members of the family and the community in which they live.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age
Criminal clearances for all house residents 18 years of age and over
General physical for all residents in home who are 6 months of age and over
Current PA drivers license
Motor vehicle record
Must provide home and motor vehicle insurance
Adequate and appropriate living space in your home, including a non-shared bedroom
Stability, patience, kindness and love
Transportation
Sensitivity to others needs
Commitment to working closely with Supportive Living Services and county and state agency representatives
Participation in training (Initial and annual- 24 hours needed annually)
