What You'll Do
The Staff Attorney will be responsible for evaluating and investigating incoming grievances based on the Ohio Rules of Professional Conduct and the Ohio Code of Judicial Conduct.
The Staff Attorney will gather evidence relevant to the issues of attorney misconduct, judicial misconduct, medical incapacity, alcohol and substance abuse, and the unauthorized practice of law.
The Staff Attorney will regularly communicate with grievants, judicial officials, attorneys, and the public regarding the evaluation and investigation of grievances.
The Staff Attorney will prepare memoranda and closing letters regarding grievances and investigations.
The Staff Attorney will assist in educating the bench and bar through CLE presentations, training sessions, and other outreach initiatives.
The Staff Attorney may assist Assistant Disciplinary Counsel in the preparation and presentation of cases before the Board of Professional Conduct or the Board on the Unauthorized Practice of Law.
The position may require some travel throughout the state. The outside practice of law is prohibited.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel seeks to hire a detail-oriented, efficient, and analytical individual for a Staff Attorney position in the Intake Department.
The candidate must have a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school, be admitted and in good standing in Ohio*, and have practiced law for a minimum of two years. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills, be an effective communicator, be committed to the highest ethical standards, and have a desire to join a dedicated and collaborative team of professionals. This position reports directly to the Senior Assistant Disciplinary Counsel for Intake.

- The starting salary range for the Staff Attorney position is $82,305 - $89,440, depending on experience, plus an excellent benefits package. The Staff Attorney position may be eligible for some remote work after 60 days.
