Job Duties
The Court of Appeals is seeking an executive assistant to provide critical support to the Clerk of Court with regard to administrative, organizational, and case-related matters. Responsibilities will encompass those activities necessary to provide the Clerk with support to enable him to manage his workflow. The position will involve complex, sensitive, and confidential matters.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities –
Duties will include:
1) assisting the Clerk with administrative and organizational matters, including special projects for the Court;
2) assisting the Clerk with case matters as they arise;
3) organizing and maintaining the Clerk’s files to ensure efficient management of pleadings pending before the Court;
4) preparing Court documents and correspondence in accordance with established guidelines and judicial instructions;
5) performing data entry in the Court’s case management system; and
6) other duties as assigned. Some telework may be allowed at the discretion of the Clerk.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or at least four years of progressively responsible experience in a court, government, or law office preferred
- Proficiency in word processing and Windows-based programs is required; experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills with an ability to anticipate needs before they arise
- A team player capable of cultivating productive working relationships with colleagues and the public
- Resourceful, can-do attitude and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and efficiently
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and perform special projects
- Experience in office and information organization and management
