Job Duties
The Supervising Deputy Clerk (Grade 12) is assigned supervisory and/or operational responsibilities for the clerk's office. Will individually direct or personally handle operational activities to promote efficient caseload processing including records management, cash processing and service to the public. The Supervisor is required to plan, schedule and monitor these activities to coincide with the overall needs of the court, other criminal justice agencies and the public. Must be committed to providing excellent customer service with a courteous and positive attitude.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for court accounting, bookkeeping and supervision of other deputy clerks. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with exceptional organizational, decision making and excellent communication skills. In addition to supervisory responsibilities, the supervisor is also an integral part of the work force in tasks connected with the functioning of the office in order to provide timely public service. Must include a high degree of accuracy and the ability to prioritize. Demonstrated competence in areas of responsibility, direct supervision as well as knowledge of court/criminal justice system and automated financial and records management systems.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree in a related field or experience in a court system desired. Must be detailed oriented to include a high degree of accuracy and the ability to prioritize. Must be able to follow and explain procedures in a clear and easy to understand manner in person and on the phone. Experience in handling money highly desirable.
Additional Considerations
Physical requirements: Lifting up to 30lb, bending/stretching to retrieve files.
