Position Scope: The purpose of the Warehouse Manager (WM) is to support and manage the warehouse location as designated. The WM will be responsible for all warehouse operations including picking, shipping, receiving, inventory and warehouse organization inclusive of safety/OSHA compliance and all related certifications/training programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Hire, train and develop all warehouse staff as designated. This will include pickers, shipping/receiving clerks, inventory control, order fulfillment and support staff.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe workplace environment.
- Manage all warehouse expenses to budget and submit purchase requests on a weekly basis (on time).
- Coordinate with key company personnel including supply chain, sales, finance and HR as needed.
- Get all orders out on time and with 100% accuracy (all e-com orders out within 48 hours, all commercial orders out on or before ship date, all key account orders out on or before ship date).
- Organize warehouse workflows including all shipping, receiving, pick-pack, bin location management, inventory control and staff development.
- Management of inbound containers in conjunction with supply chain.
- Manage put-away processes same-day.
- Update and maintain all SOPs relating to key areas of warehouse and create SOPs as needed.
- Organize certifications and training of all machinery including forklifts, scissor lifts and shipping/receiving machinery.
- Maintain proper signage of all safety, compliance and building zone designations.
- Be familiar with all SKUs including product kits, sets and packaging requirements.
- Ensure warehouse personnel and conditions are OSHA compliant and all workplace postings are properly presented according to guidelines.
- Manage and maintain accuracy of NetSuite ERP system as it relates to shipping, receiving, order priority, inventory and ticketing.
- Perform cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain regular communication to develop, lead and manage all direct reports including lead picker and lead receiver and validation personnel.
- Develop budget and departmental needs on a quarterly basis.
- Work with HR on all new hire and temp staff on boarding procedures.
- Hold regular, weekly 1-1s with key direct reports and set KPIs for department.
- Attend regular leadership meetings as scheduled.
- Continually develop and improve workflow efficiency to reflect company initiatives.
Background Profile:
- Minimum 10 years of warehouse and/or shipping/receiving experience with an emphasis in product or service lines.
- Knowledge in NetSuite/WMS and warehouse/manufacturing software and inventory tracking modules.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to effectively communicate, coach, and motivate employees.
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Must be adept at handling pressure in various customer situations and working well under deadlines.
Education/ Certifications:
- Highschool diploma, college degree preferred.
