Truck Dispatcher

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation activities, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining communication with drivers and clients. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in transportation management systems, and the ability to analyze data effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily dispatch operations to ensure efficient routing and timely deliveries.
• Utilize Oracle Transportation Management and other transportation management systems to optimize logistics processes.
• Perform data entry tasks accurately to maintain up-to-date records of shipments and deliveries.
• Analyze transportation data to identify trends and improve operational efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with drivers via phone systems to provide instructions and updates.
• Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for route planning and optimization.
• Maintain accurate logs of dispatch activities and resolve any issues that may arise during transit.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance overall logistics operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in dispatching or logistics coordination is preferred.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems such as SyteLine is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in using phone systems for effective communication.
• Knowledge of 3PL operations is desirable.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
