Job Overview
Sure Foundation Behavioral Health Services is seeking a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) to facilitate Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) and Substance Abuse Comprehensive Outpatient Treatment (SACOT) groups. This role involves assessing, planning, and implementing recovery strategies for individuals struggling with substance abuse issues. The CADC will be integral in guiding clients through their recovery journey, utilizing various therapeutic methods and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations to understand the nature of each client’s addiction.
- Identify key factors contributing to substance use and plan appropriate interventions.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual client needs.
- Continuously evaluate and adjust plans to ensure effectiveness.
- Lead SAIOP and SACOT group therapy sessions, fostering a supportive and therapeutic environment.
- Manage group dynamics to ensure each client feels heard and benefits from the sessions.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Craft patient-specific crisis management plans to address potential relapse triggers.
- Work with healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians and nurses, for holistic client care.
- Communicate with the legal system regarding client progress, especially for court-mandated cases.

- Visit various institutions like schools and prisons for preventative education.

- Communicate effectively with clients’ families to support the recovery process.
- Assist clients in finding or maintaining employment, collaborating with vocational services when needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client progress, treatment plans, and interventions.
- Stay updated with the latest substance abuse counseling methods and participate in relevant training and workshops.
- Utilize group therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, 12-step facilitation, and motivational interviewing to support recovery.
