Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimating Costs: Accurately calculates the cost of concrete materials (like cement, aggregates, steel reinforcement), labor (concrete finishers, form workers), equipment (mixers, pumps), and associated expenses (transport, disposal).
  • Analyzing Plans and Specifications: Reviews architectural drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to understand the scope of work and identify all concrete-related elements.
  • Quantity Take-Off: Precisely determines the quantities of concrete required for different project components (foundations, slabs, columns, beams, etc.) using software and calculations.
  • Supplier and Subcontractor Relations: Contacts concrete suppliers, formwork suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain quotes and negotiate prices, ensuring the best possible deals.
  • Bid Preparation: Prepares detailed bids for concrete work, including cost breakdowns, labor hours, and project schedules, for submission to clients or contractors.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Develops project budgets, tracks actual costs against estimated costs, and identifies potential cost savings.
