Surety HR is seeking a Safety Consultant to develop, implement, and oversee workplace safety programs for our clients to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promoting a culture of safety. The ideal candidate will assess potential hazards, provide training, and recommend best practices to minimize risks and enhance workplace safety.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH and other safety regulations.
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs to promote a safe working environment.
- Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and safety audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, identify root causes and implement preventative measures.
- Maintain and update safety records, reports and compliance documentation.
- Provide guidance on safety equipment, PPE usage, and emergency response protocols.
- Work closely with Surety HR client services and sales representatives.
- Stay up to date with industry regulations and best practices to ensure continuous improvement.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships and consulting contracts.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in workplace safety, compliance, or risk management.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations.
- Background in construction safety or manufacturing safety is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify hazards and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
- Proficiency in safety management systems, incident reporting, and documentation.
- Certifications such as CHST, or OSHA 30, OSHA 500 are a plus.
- Ability to travel in the state of Ohio to client sites or job sites and conduct field assessments as needed.
- Must have a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance and reliable transportation.
Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
