Everyday Wire is a leading manufacturer of high-quality wire harnesses, serving a diverse range of OEMs with a strong commitment to quality, customer service, and continuous improvement. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Operations to lead and oversee our production and operational functions.
Job Overview:
The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for driving the operational excellence of our wire harness manufacturing facility. This executive role requires a strategic leader with deep industry knowledge and operational expertise to ensure the efficient production of wire harnesses while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service. The VP of Operations will oversee all facets of manufacturing, logistics, supply chain management, and continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on achieving company goals, driving profitability, and fostering a culture of innovation, safety, and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Provide strategic leadership to the production team, driving alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Oversee day-to-day operations across production, purchasing, and shipping functions.
- Ensure high-quality standards in production processes, meeting customer requirements, and reducing defects.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Process Optimization:
- Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity across the manufacturing plant.
- Implement and manage effective production scheduling, resource allocation, employee development, and inventory control processes.
- Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the operations management team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Budget and Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the operational budget, ensuring cost control and efficiency in production.
- Work with the finance team to forecast and track operational costs, identifying areas for cost-saving initiatives.
- Analyze financial reports and make data-driven decisions to optimize operational performance.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Partner with other departments, including Sales, Engineering, Finance, HR, and Quality to ensure seamless production and delivery.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the executive team regarding operational performance, challenges, and opportunities.
- Ensure effective communication across all levels of the organization, fostering a collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Experience:
- 5 to 7 years of manufacturing support experience in the areas of production, supply chain, master scheduling, planning, and system level assembly and testing.
- Knowledge of IPC 620 standards.
- Advanced PC proficiency in MS Project, MS Office, MS Outlook.
- Electronics OEM supplier experience: low volume, high mix, diverse small parts, fast turnaround times preferred.
- Experience with the production of cable assemblies and wire harnesses
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of production planning, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
- Strong financial expertise, with experience managing budgets and analyzing financial data.
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with other departments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
