Job Summary:
The Food Distributor Restaurant Business Consultant works closely with restaurant operators to improve their overall profitability, operational efficiency, and menu development. By leveraging market insights, sales expertise, and product knowledge, the consultant helps clients maximize their use of food distribution services while fostering long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with restaurant owners, chefs, and decision-makers.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and support.
Menu Development and Optimization:
- Collaborate with clients to create or update menu offerings that align with food cost, profit margins, and market trends.
- Provide guidance on seasonal, limited time, or promotional menu items using distributed products.
Sales Growth and Revenue Maximization:
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell or upsell distribution products.
- Assist clients in analyzing year-over-year (YOY) sales trends and identifying growth opportunities.
Operational Support:
- Offer recommendations for streamlining food procurement and inventory management.
- Conduct training sessions with restaurant staff on proper use of distributor products.
- Provide Beyond The Box solutions for bottom line and top line growth
Market Insights and Trend Analysis:
- Share data on industry trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape.
- Help clients adapt to changing consumer demands, including dietary preferences and sustainability practices.
Collaborative Problem-Solving:
- Partner with clients to solve pain points in food sourcing, cost management, or logistics.
- Serve as a liaison between clients and distribution teams to ensure timely delivery and support.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in food distribution, restaurant consulting, or hospitality management.
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including menu engineering, food costing and restaurant P & L.
- Demonstrated success in sales or business development roles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Results-oriented and goal-driven individual.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze sales data and offer actionable recommendations.
- Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and culinary trends.
- Experience working with independent restaurants or chain operations.
- Passion for the food and beverage industry with a consultative approach to sales.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field, preferred but not required
