We are seeking a versatile and skilled Tool Maker / CNC Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves designing and creating precision tools like molds and dies while maintaining the quality of those tools. The ideal candidate will have a diverse set of technical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving, diagnosing and resolving issues to support operational needs.
We are looking for a permanent full-time Tool Maker/ CNC Machine Operator at our manufacturing facility in N. Dartmouth, MA. The in-person role is Monday-Friday from 7:00am – 4:00pm.
Responsibilities:
CNC and Laser Operations:
- Program and operate HASS CNC machines for precision manufacturing tasks.
- Program and maintain laser engraving equipment for molding machines, ensuring accurate and efficient operation.
Injection Molding Support:
- Perform minor repairs and regular maintenance on injection molds to ensure optimal performance.
- Clean and maintain injection molds to extend their lifespan and maintain product quality.
- Design and build End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT) for molding department robots, improving automation efficiency.
Programming and Technical Support:
- Provide basic programming support for laser engraving devices, injection molding robots, embroidery machines, and automatic fabric cutters.
- Assist in optimizing equipment settings for improved efficiency and quality.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to and promote safety protocols and ergonomic guidelines in all maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards during operations.
Requirements and Skills:
- Technical training or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, or related fields.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills.
- Basic programming knowledge for CNC machines, laser engravers, and robotic systems.
- Familiarity with injection molding processes and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various departments.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to respond to urgent needs as they arise.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in various positions, including standing, kneeling, and reaching.
- Manual dexterity for operating tools and performing intricate repairs.
