The PM ROOM SERVICE SUPERVISOR is responsible to oversee the daily operations of Room Service and to be responsible for ensuring the prompt, efficient, and professional service of food and beverages to Hotel guests in their rooms.
The expected base wage range for this position is: $17.50 per hour. This position may be eligible for additional compensation according to the Company's policies, as they may be amended from time to time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, include but not limited to:
- To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- To make the Room Service Manager aware of all guest comments and complaints.
- To train and support employees directly accountable to his/her position and to maintain highest possible levels of employee morale and department productivity.
- To extend a courteous and professional greeting to all guests.
- To coordinate with other departments to ensure prompt and professional response to all guest requests.
- To ensure that Room Service station is attended at all times during specified hours.
- To stock adequate levels of necessary supplies at the Room Service station.
- To ensure hotel corridors are kept clear of all Room Service items.
- To follow all specified procedures to correctly handle all cash and credit card transactions, including the proper use of Micros.
- To follow specified procedures to provide prompt, efficient and gracious customer service to hotel guests in their rooms, including answering telephones, delivering orders, preparing and presenting guest bills.
- To be thoroughly familiar with the Room Service menu to promote the sale of menu items.
- To facilitate the professional handling of Room Service and potentially other Food & Beverage Outlets service orders by promptly and courteously answering telephones and accurately entering orders and payment into Micros.
- To follow all specified procedures to correctly count and document issued Banks as part of the opening and closing procedures for each shift.
- To correctly handle all cash and credit card transactions with Micros.
- To help close all Mini Bar sales tickets into Micros.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. English fluency required. Must have minimum one year experience in Food & Beverage Department of hotel industry, with emphasis on Room Service. Must be familiar with all areas of customer service, including correct telephone etiquette, proper cash and cash register handling. A valid food handlers card must be timely obtained upon hire and maintained in good standing, which time and expense may be compensable. A valid California Responsible Beverage Service certification is required.
SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Demonstrated ability to train staff an ensure luxury resort customer service. Ability to effectively manage staff to maintain a high level of morale and productivity. Detail oriented. Organized and efficient. Learns quickly. Safety-minded. High quality standards for production and service. Diplomatic and calm. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Stands and walks approximately 80 % of shift. Sits at desk or in meetings approximately 20% of shift. Occasionally required to handle and move objects weighing up to 40 pounds over long distances. Bends, stoops, reaches, and lifts up to 20 lbs. to perform routine job tasks. Must be able to work well under pressure. Must be flexible to work long, sometimes irregular hours, as needed. Frequent use of stairs, daily. Fast-paced work environment. Guest facing position that may handle conflict and/or encounter individuals who may be upset and emotional at times.
TRAVEL: This position is not expected to travel for work.
REMOTE WORK: This position is not eligible to work remotely. The candidate must be able to work in-person during normal business hours.
