Server, Bartender, Hosts, and Runner

Surf Cantina is a surf themed restaurant in the heart of downtown Westerly RI. We serve Mexican food with a twist .with fresh margaritas and craft cocktails. We feature a live band every Friday and a DJ every Saturday. We are looking for fast paced professionals to add to our amazing team for a busy venue!

Primary Functions:

Interacting and providing service for guests in bar, restaurant, and related areas.

Attend to the food & service needs of the guest.

Control, on an ongoing basis, the Quality level of Service, Guest satisfaction, Sanitation, Cleanliness & Hygiene.

Running food and beverage from kitchen and bar to dining areas presenting and explaining items to guests

Take orders utilizing salesmanship techniques making appropriate recommendations according to mood and dynamic of the table. Always read your guests prior to making suggestions. and serve food and beverages to customers in a friendly and courteous manner. Document all orders legibly on paper as a backup record in case the computer system is ever inoperative.

Specific Accountabilities:

Clean, set up, and breakdown of tables, trays, and stations per side worksheets and SOPs.

Take feedback from the customers about the food and check if any modifications are necessary.

Constant checking, cleaning, and maintenance of all food & beverage areas.

Ensure guest tables and public areas are always maintained to design standards and expectations.

Replenish side stations throughout service; supply and replenish condiments and others to station fridges.

Responsible for section, common stations & overall area cleanliness.

Review menu daily for changes, specials, and 86 lists.

Properly serve patrons while showcasing the knowledge of food and beverage through suggestive upselling.

Follow the steps of service and standard operating procedures.

Opening/refilling bottles of water in the station and on tables throughout service.

Make sure the receipts are neat and organized for closing reports.

Properly putting an order through in POS.

Handling all payment methods accurately

Ensuring that all closing side work is thoroughly completed (see side work list & SOPs).

Perform other duties as requested.

You are to check in with the MOD upon arrival and before leaving any assigned areas.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

POS: System and cashiering knowledge

Understanding: Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions per established procedures.

Comprehension: Excellent command of the English language.

Organizational Skills: Work efficiently, utilize multi-tasking and task prioritization skills.

Service: Level of service consistent and uniform in accordance with established standards per SOP.

Hygiene and Sanitation: Adherence to uniform, grooming, and personal hygiene standards and expectations. Ongoing cleaning and maintenance of workstation according to established procedure.

Punctuality: Adherence to posted schedule and arrival time. Attendance at meetings when scheduled.

Responsibility: Personal comportment in line with policies, standards, and expectations. Identify and report real or potential problem situations to management immediately.

Knowledge: Adherence to F&B testing with a passing grade of 100% including any allergens, and standards.

Ability to meet physical and scheduling demands of the position, including, walking, standing, or lifting heavy items for extended periods and working nights, weekends, and holidays.
