Head Bay Kids Instructor
Seasonal: June 22nd - August 15th
Job Description and Responsibilities
The Head Bay Kids Instructor is responsible for creating and implementing an age-appropriate, fun learning experience for SCYC’s youngest members. The Bay Kids program is an introductory program that prepares children for summers and life on the bay.
Job tasks listed below are in general and meant to outline the various tasks to be performed, but duties include others as assigned. There will be tasks from time to time that may come up that are unique to a certain situation and to be addressed at that time per the direction of the Club Manager.
Before Program Begins:
1 Month to 1 Week Prior to Program Start (compensated for time spent planning)
- Organize class materials and assess supplies that may be needed or to be ordered
- Review and edit basic outline of 8 weeks of programs including Bay Beach days, and other special activities (visit from Surf City Police, Re-Clam the Bay, fire trucks, sailing, etc.) & help prepare a calendar for distribution to parents
During the Eight Weeks of Programs
- Submit weekly updates for e-mail blast
- Review lessons and activity plans with fellow instructors
- Maintain daily attendance records of participants
- Work with Bay Kids instructors on planning activities, crafts, games, and lessons
- Maintain a small budget for snacks and supplies (amount provided by Club Manger)
- Maintain direct communication with parents in regards to special activities, events, etc.
Notes:
- All staff are to conduct themselves in a professional and appropriate manner at all times and be polite to all of the members and non-member guests.
- This position is seasonal and offers no additional benefits
- Staff are required to wear appropriate clothing or staff shirt, keep neat in appearance that is suited for position
- Staff are required to be aware of the Club’s Harassment policy.
- Must be able to lift items, move light furniture, work on or near the water, in full sun, or in other weather elements
- Ideal candidate will be self-driven as well as be able to follow direction
Requirements:
- Driver's License
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- Pass required background check
- Teaching or pre-school teaching experience
- Private club, camp, or hospitality experience a plus
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
