The Purchasing Agent/Inventory Control Specialist will oversee the activities of the purchasing and inventory control department and manage the inventory of materials for the company. This position works with other managers to manage supplies within their respective departments.
This is an onsite role, and some travel will be required. Must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate to Bakersfield, CA 93311 before starting work (Required).
As part of our Team, your duties will: (Duties and Responsibilities)
- Perform all aspects of purchasing for the company and for managing the inventory, distribution and control of those items for all company locations.
- Partner with senior managers to determine purchasing needs for their sites and confirm all aspects of pricing, confirm all deliveries, and maintain an inventory control database.
- Purchase supplies, materials, and parts for the company.
- Develop and maintain an inventory database for supplies and materials used.
- Review purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and logistics departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control department.
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- At least five years of buying or purchasing experience required with supervisory experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- May be asked to travel to visit vendors or different company locations.
