The Cartridge Roll operator is responsible for the rolled abrasive products by performing the following essentials duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Taking a pre-cut strip of sandpaper and running it over a glue wheel
- Feeding the strip into the proper size mandrel slot and using a hand wheel to roll the abrasive into a circular piece
- Responsible for changing mandrels based on product and specifications
- May be using an oven to bake the pieces for setting of the glue
- Prolonged periods of sedimentary work
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Proficient mechanical skills
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
- Excellent attendance
- Good attitude.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills:
Basic math skills and basic ruler measurements knowledge.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands here require the ability to lift 25-50lbs worth of abrasives materials. Employees must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time during shifts with frequent overhead reaching. Use of dexterity in hands and feet is frequent and intermittent during shift. Occasional interaction with vibrating materials. The ability to correctly wear the personal protective equipment required daily
Work Environment:
Work environment is manufacturing in nature and includes exposure to dust and airborne particles, working near moving mechanical parts, and working with adhesive materials and some chemicals. Overall work environment noise level is medium.
