We are seeking a versatile and motivated E-Commerce & Retail Operations Coordinator to join our team and support the seamless integration of our in-store and online operations. This dual-role position is based both at our Malibu retail location and our Agoura Hills office/warehouse, providing a unique opportunity to contribute to our business on multiple fronts.
As the E-Commerce & Retail Operations Coordinator, you will be at the heart of both our digital and physical spaces, playing a pivotal role in ensuring a cohesive brand experience across all channels. You’ll work closely with our team to support in-store operations, cultivate a welcoming environment for our customers, and contribute to achieving sales goals. In addition, you’ll manage the day-to-day presentation and functionality of our e-commerce website, driving growth through creative content and strategy.
We’re looking for a self-starter with an interest in vintage goods and apparel, strong communication skills, and a willingness to take on various responsibilities as needed. This role offers incredible growth potential within our expanding brand.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Operations:
- Collaborate with the retail team to ensure in-store standards are maintained, sales goals are met, and operations run smoothly.
- Actively engage with customers on the sales floor, sharing your knowledge of our curated vintage design goods and Surfing Cowboys branded apparel.
- Assist in creating and maintaining an inviting and positive store atmosphere that enhances the overall customer experience.
- Support daily retail operations such as inventory management, product entry, merchandising, staffing, and procurement.
- Coordinate and participate in in-store events, pop-ups, and collaborations to increase foot traffic and brand exposure.
- Help manage and maintain inventory, including orders, transfers, check-ins, and visual merchandising.
E-Commerce & Digital Operations:
- Develop and maintain a consistent online brand message and user experience for the Surfing Cowboys website.
- Write and edit product content for vintage goods, curated vintage apparel, and branded merchandise to be published on e-commerce platforms.
- Manage the day-to-day presentation of the website, ensuring content is current, accurate, and engaging.
- Collaborate with external agencies and internal teams to optimize product listings and implement strategies that drive online sales and customer engagement.
- Utilize web analytics to monitor changes in product sales and customer behavior, making recommendations for content and strategy adjustments.
- Assist in developing and executing digital marketing strategies, including social media posts, email campaigns, and press releases to increase online visibility.
- Create and manage content for the website, including product descriptions, articles, and multimedia assets that align with our brand’s voice and values.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail sales and/or e-commerce support, with a solid understanding of the integration between physical and digital retail spaces.
- Knowledge of Vintage & Apparel: Familiarity with vintage design goods, apparel, and fashion trends. Understanding of garment construction and various eras/styles is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms (Shopify preferred), content management systems, and digital tools such as Google Analytics, Klaviyo, and Canva.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to convey information clearly and engage both in-person and online audiences.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
- Adaptability & Flexibility: Willingness to take on diverse responsibilities and adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic retail and digital environment.
- Creative & Analytical Mindset: A keen eye for design and user experience combined with an analytical approach to optimizing the e-commerce platform.
