What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Manager (GM) position at Surge Adventure Park - Metairie?
Surge Entertainment by Drew Brees will be the top entertainment destination for kids, families and adults in and around the Metairie/New Orleans area. We offer activities like bowling, laser tag, ninja courses, sports simulators, go-karts, arcades and more along with a full restaurant and bar. We are looking for someone to join our on-site management team.
Job Responsibilities: You will be tasked with providing services including but not limited to the following:
- The overall profitability and performance of park across both the restaurant and entertainment parts of the business.
- Train and supervise Surge management and staff in accordance with the guidance and processes from corporate.
- Work closely with management to meet revenue and expense objectives.
- Ensure all food safety procedures are strictly adhered to according to sanitary regulations.
- Ensure all FOH and BOH responsibilities are being addressed including, but not limited to, approving shift schedules, maintaining inventory controls, improving customer service, and bar-tending duties.
- Ensure all Operation Managers are held accountable for providing an exception guest experience which focuses on guest enjoyment, park safety and cleanliness.
- Controlling and overseeing all labor costs and scheduling for the park working with other managers.
- Assist the implementation of corporate-driven menu changes and adjustments
- Implement appropriate strategies to resolve adverse trends and improve sales
- Maintain safe working conditions
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding the handling of cash, property, products and equipment.
- Audit inventory levels to ensure product availability, and order products as necessary
- Generate, review and respond to reports from the park’s system of records on overall performance and be able to share and communicate said information with company.
- Provide all Surge personnel with a welcoming supportive work environment, placing an emphasis on celebrating their victories.
- Ensure all corporate events, large groups, field trips and birthday parties, etc. receive the expected level of service.
- Delivering and ensuring that all Surge personnel offer the highest customer service possible
- You will be expected to communicate effectively with all personnel at Surge and Surge Management LLC.
- The interviewing and hiring process for all Surge employees and personnel, management or otherwise. Providing feeback in the form or positive recognition or correction. Dealing with new hires, discipline and terminations as deemed necessary.
- Confidence in all expenses including but not limited to payroll and cost of goods.
- Complete all daily and weekly duties in a timely manner consistent with industry best standards. This includes but is not limited to schedules, inventory, etc.
- Develop an expert-level understanding of the POS and other daily systems used in daily operations.
- Have a strong working knowledge of all Operator Manuals
- Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner making them a top priority. Solve customer issues and understand customer complaints.
- Learn and understand general maintenance and repair needs of all equipment in the restaurant.
- Ensure the park is clean, organized and ready to deliver at all times.
- Report all injuries and incidents in a timely manner to Surge Management, LLC, preserving video clips and all supporting documentation.
- Be organized and ready to document incidents, customer complaints, injuries and employee issues that may occur at Surge.
- Comply to all federal, state and local laws and regulation
