1st Shift Forklift Driver

Job Title: Forklift Driver 1st shift 6am - to finished 

Pay $21/hr. 

Job Summary:
The forklift driver is responsible for operating a forklift to safely move goods and materials around the warehouse or manufacturing facility. This includes loading and unloading shipments, stacking products, and ensuring that all safety protocols are followed while handling materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts to transport materials and products within the warehouse, shipping dock, or other designated areas.

• Load and unload goods from delivery trucks or storage areas, ensuring they are placed in the correct locations.

• Stack and organize materials in an orderly fashion to optimize space and maintain safety standards.

• Perform routine checks on forklift equipment, including refueling, charging batteries, and ensuring equipment is in good working condition.

• Ensure safe and efficient handling of goods to prevent accidents, product damage, or injuries.

• Assist with inventory control by scanning barcodes and maintaining accurate records of material movements.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

• Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to management.

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Communicate with supervisors or team leaders to ensure that the work flow is optimized and all tasks are completed in a timely manner.

• May assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including packaging and labeling products.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Certification in forklift operation (as required by local laws).

• Proven experience operating forklifts and handling materials in a warehouse setting.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

• Ability to lift and move heavy items, often up to 50 pounds or more.

• Knowledge of safety standards and protocols in a warehouse environment.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience with different types of forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach trucks, or order pickers).

• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory control software.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for long periods.

• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials, sometimes in awkward or difficult positions.

• Comfortable working in a warehouse or industrial environment with fluctuating temperatures.
