What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Mechanic position at Surge?
Hours-
7am-4pm
Wages-
$24-26 based on experience
- Customer service: Consulting with customers, explaining the repair process, and explaining defects to vehicle owners
- Work planning: Reading work orders, using technical manuals and charts to plan work procedures
- Vehicle inspection: Inspecting vehicles, including the engine, transmission, steering mechanism, brake system, and lighting system
- Diagnostic testing: Reading and interpreting diagnostic test results to identify mechanical problems
- Repairs: Repairing or replacing malfunctioning parts, including mechanical or electrical equipment
- Maintenance: Performing basic maintenance, including changing oil, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires
- Test driving: Test-driving vehicles to ensure they run smoothly
- Record keeping: Keeping detailed records of all vehicles serviced
- Inventory: Keeping track of inventory
- Workplace cleanliness: Maintaining the cleanliness of the workplace
