Job Description
Overview: The Legal Intern will work full-time, supporting the in-house corporate counsel of Surge Staffing. This role involves providing research, investigation assistance, reporting, drafting, and other services to enhance the efficiency of the legal department across various practice areas, including commercial contracts, litigation, real estate, labor/employment, and ongoing legal projects. This internship is Monday-Friday, located at Surge Staffing HQ in Columbus, Ohio.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to Legal Department personnel by conducting research, assisting with investigations, preparing and updating reports, and offering other services across Surge's in-house practice areas.
- Collaborate with team members on various corporate matters, fostering a culture of teamwork and knowledge sharing.
- Assist in identifying and addressing the legal needs of internal stakeholders and clients proactively and promptly.
- Participate in meetings with internal stakeholders.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by the legal team.
Qualifications:
- Must be pursuing a Juris Doctor or Ph.D. in Law or a related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Outstanding organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
