Job Description
Job Title: Maintenance Specialist
Location: Akron, Ohio
Reports To: Warehouse Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Shift is 8-5
Pay $20-24 depending on experience
SUMMARY
The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day functionality of the facility, equipment, and ongoing operations including, but not limited to normal and preventive procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enforce and abide by all safety, service, and quality requirements.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment, tools, and machinery, and oversee general maintenance when necessary.
- Assist the department with maintaining appropriate appearance, organization, and safety of the warehouse.
- Ability to perform plumbing maintenance on sink, toilets, and other items as needed.
- Ability to perform electrical maintenance on low voltage 110-220 singe 460-volt three phase.
- Ability to perform welding such as plasma cutting, gas cutting/welding, and stick welding.
- Operate hoists, lifts, and other machinery.
- Ability to frequently use hand tools, saws, grinders, and small equipment pieces or parts.
- Ability to read blueprints, hydraulic, and electrical schematics.
- Maintain parts inventory.
- Maintain an adequate and organized process for all work orders generated by the departments. Must be able to responds appropriately to requests based on urgency.
- Completes all duties and projects assigned in a timely manner.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in warehouse, maintenance, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with sit-down and stand-up type forklifts, as well as other warehousing equipment preferred.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Knowledge and ability to use of MS Access, Excel, Power Point, and Word.
- Excellent verbal and written communicator.
- /Must be able to multi-task and follow through with all projects and assignments.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to be self-motivated with little to no oversight.
- Must be well organized and pay close attention to detail.
- Familiarity with operation of material handling, tire presses, and production equipment.
- MRP, WMS and TMS experience helpful along with the ability to quickly learn various company programs.
SUPERVISORY SKILLS
- No direct supervisory responsibilities required.
- May assist with training new employees into the company.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate clearly and accurately in English in writing or verbally to co-workers, supervisors, customers, and suppliers in person, email, or via telephone.
- Secondary language and writing skills in Spanish preferred, but not required.

TRAVEL/SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
- Schedule consists of Monday – Friday, however, schedule is subject to change and fluctuate due to company needs.
- Willingness to work overtime or days off as needed or required.
- Less than 10% but may be required on occasion.
