Job Description:
Surge Staffing, in partnership with a leading supplier of plant solutions for handling and industrial automation, is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Technician/Assembler to join their team in Newnan, GA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assembling industrial equipment and conveyor systems and will be willing to travel extensively after transitioning to a permanent position.
As part of the role, you will be responsible for assembling conveyor belts and other industrial equipment using basic hand tools. This equipment will be shipped out for installation in warehouses across various locations.
Key Responsibilities:

Assembly: Assemble conveyor belts and industrial equipment in a warehouse setting.

Tools: Use basic hand tools to complete tasks (training will be provided as needed).

Travel: Once hired permanently, candidates will be required to travel for the majority of their work (90% travel time). Travel will primarily consist of working in Southern states, with a focus on traveling between Georgia and Tennessee, but could also extend to other locations.

Installation: Assist in the installation of conveyor systems in warehouses across different states. Travel assignments could be for weeks at a time, and all travel expenses will be covered once you are a permanent employee.

Clean 7-Year Background: A clean criminal background for the past seven years is required.

Travel Willingness: Must be willing to travel extensively once transitioned to a permanent role. Travel will be a significant portion of the job (90% of working time).

Tools: Basic hand tools will be required.
